27 years ago, The LAB began as a vibrant community for lovers of art, music, fashion and artisanal cuisine. Built on the idea of breaking the norm and encouraging the unconventional, the Anti-Mall cultivated creativity and connection.
House of Intuition fits fully into The LAB’s foundational ideal. With a welcoming spirit, HOI will serve as a culturally inclusive metaphysical oasis, providing knowledge and resources you need to begin or enhance your spiritual journey.

Get to know the inspiring founders, LGBTQ+ Marlene Vargas and Alex Naranjo, below!
WHAT IS HOUSE OF INTUITION?
Marlene: House of Intuition is a metaphysical brand we organically created - out of our own personal spiritual paths - dedicated to helping people along their journey of personal growth through healing, transformation and empowerment. In 2007, I went through what many others were going through during this time: we lost our our home, cars, and our business to the market crash, and ultimately filed for bankruptcy. Desperate to find answers, clarity and direction, we went to a Tarot reader. We went through a transformation of spirituality that began with that first reading and by 2010 we wanted to give back what we had received. The rest is history.
Alex: Growing up with a Catholic background, I always questioned Catholic traditions. Some things just didn’t sit right with me. So as I got older, I began my spiritual journey seeking what felt right for my soul. Throughout my journey, I realized I didn’t have to conform to one single belief system. I decided I would create my own spiritual tradition by taking things that resonated with me from many spiritual and religious practices.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE PART ABOUT HAVING A STOREFRONT FOR PEOPLE TO COME VISIT?
Marlene: When we started this journey we knew very little of the power we have to create our dreams, and today we dream bigger because now we know all is possible. Our heartfelt dream from the very beginning - which we are compelled to continue - is to help change lives and provide a safe place for people to call their spiritual home across the US.
We wish to provide you with the tools you need to heal your past and manifest your brightest future. We’ve created magical items such as hand-picked crystals, all-natural herbs packaged in-house, and dressed magic candles.
We also host a variety of workshops & special events virtually online on social media via Instagram & Facebook, and in our online HOI Cosmic Classroom, where it was important for us to provide meditations, magical ceremonies, and Shamanic Journeys, as well as in-depth classes on Tarot, Celestial Events, Psychic Development and more featuring our incredible community of teachers, healers and empaths.
